Men After His Own HeartĀ is a new Catholic Men's Group at St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church in Granada Hills, California. Our next series of meetings startsĀ Saturday, April 21st at 6:30 AM. That's right, 6:30 AM. We call it the "no excuses hour." For most of us it is before we start our chores or have to be a the kid's soccer game. Don't worry, we will have plenty of coffee on hand.
At each meeting we will have the opportunity to get to know each other. Yep, fellowship. A little coffee, a little chatting, easing into the meeting.
There will be prayer. We will dive into the rich storehouse of the Church's history of prayer, reviving, or reminding, us of some of our traditional best.
There will be sharing. This series of meetings, we will be watching and discussing Bishop Robert Baron's “The Eucharist" video series. No homework. We promise. Just an opportunity to look at this uniquely Catholic understanding of the living presence of Christ. This is not your child's catechism. Bishop Baron does not, as he puts it, "dumb down the religion." He offers thought provoking information, drawn from his deep understanding of the Catholic faith.
There will be support. We will close out each meeting by praying for each other, offering our intentions to the God who hears all our prayers.
In the near future, we hope to grow to a group that will look around our community and find ways to spread Catholic Charity through outreach. We also look forward to planning events in which we can get together and just share each other's company. We look forward to seeing you there.
